Molly's Adventure Books

Why We Create Adventure Stories for Children

Every child experiences the world through their own emotional lens.

Some days they wake up feeling brave and ready to conquer mountains. Other days, they feel worried, uncertain, or overwhelmed by big feelings they don't yet have words for. And here's what we realised: the same story can meet them exactly where they are.

When we create adventure stories like Molly's beach rescue, we're not just writing about a dog finding a missing bunny. We're crafting experiences that shift and breathe with each child's mood. An anxious child might focus on Molly's careful problem-solving and gentle reassurance. A confident child sees her bold leadership through the storm. A sensitive child connects deeply with Luna's worry and relief.

This is why we do what we do.

We believe that the best children's books don't just entertain, they become companions. They validate feelings, inspire courage, and quietly teach that helping others makes our hearts fuller than any solo adventure ever could.

We set our stories in real places - like the stunning dunes of Saunton Sands - because children deserve to see their world reflected back at them. When a child from Taunton recognises the beach where they've built sandcastles, the story becomes theirs in a deeper way. It tells them that adventures don't require faraway lands; magic exists in familiar places when we choose to see it.

But mostly, we create these books because we remember.

We remember what it felt like to climb into bed with a story that understood us. To meet characters who showed us how to be brave, kind, and resilient. To learn that our feelings, all of them, were valid and shared by others.

Every adventure we write is an invitation: to feel deeply, to help generously, and to discover that the best journeys often begin when we notice someone else needs us.

That's not just why we write adventure books.

That's why we believe in them.

From our family to yours, thank you for joining us on these adventures and for raising children who will make the world a kinder place.
